Cibotium chamissoi
HAPU'U
Common in mesic to wet forests of Oahu, becoming less common moving
east to the Big Island, absent from Kaua'i. Fronds bare except at base,
pinnule segments cut 7/8 deep, basal segments lack projecting 'ear', dull
light green beneath, with tan cobweb hairs that fall with age. Endemic to Hawaii. |
