VARIEGATED ORCHID TREE

Ornamental tree native to SE Asia.  Flowers range from pale purple to pink, yellow, or white, broad petals overlapping.  Has five fertile stamens compared to Bauhinia purpurea's three, flower buds not winged or five-angled.  Leaves die quickly, creating a mess.
